Paracelsus Essence of his Thought(1)

Paracelsus Essence of his Thought(1) Victor. Arturo. Cabello. Reyes.🌹 ''The local doctors hated him. He had denounced them publicly a ''misbegotten crew of approved asses'' for their practices of bleeding, bathing and torturing the sick.'' (Bernard Jaffe: Crucibles: The Story of Chemistry, p.14) Paracelsus Essence of his Thought Philip Aureolus Theophrastus Bombastó of Hohenheim: (Born in Maria Ensiedeln, Switzerland on Nov. 10, 1493 and died Sept. 24, 1541 in Salzburg, Austria) The master Paracelsus had a familiar, broad and educated knowledge of medieval alchemy, where all the virtues – plants and medicine – come directly from divine wisdom. God is the Great Physician of the macrocosm and instructs the physician of the microcosm. It is essential that the doctor knows astrology and learns the "path of the Arcana", its Squares and "Planetary Seals"; geometric shapes that symbolize philosophical concepts. Arcanum is the incorporeal secret and 'immortal thing that no one can know by experience alone'. Arcana is also the medicines that are produced by alchemy = aurum potabile, Tinctura, Rebis, Tinctura procedens and Elixir Tincturae. Paracelsus remarkably imposes reasoned and practical experimentation where "the patient must be the only book of the doctor". There is in man a "clear essential fire" in total opposition to the "dark elemental fire"; and it is thanks to the Light of Nature, which penetrates all planes, that we can investigate and study the Archeus = Principle of Life which contains the essence of life and gives character to things. It is worth affirming that it is a formative Power of the same nature where elements and forms or organic parts are recognized. Archeus gives life and shape to the body. In our body 'the stars move' freely and without mixing having an invisible action = Arcana. We are Cosmos! Paracelsus' powerful medicine is part of a universal and 'cosmo-alchemical' process of God's Revelation on a plane of reality and revelation of divine forces that come to affect the entire healing process. There is a Superior Spirit = Archeus who is sublime and invisible who separates himself from the bodies, mysterious force of Nature. Medicine must be based on Natural Philosophy and on a healthy relationship between man and the sky. Within man himself as a microcosm, the principles and the substances are contained. Paracelsus' father was William Bombast von Hohenheim, an important physician from the town of Einsiedeln in Switzerland (Canton of Schwyz). It is from his medical part that Paracelsus learns practical and experimental medicine = ('scientia alchemiae') and to be able to ''diagnose by analogy'', from the diseases of minerals to the diseases of men. It is striking that Jung, in a very particular opinion, said that Paracelsus had: "fanatical opposition to scholastic medicine" and "sarcastic and quarrelsome temperament". "On the one hand Paracelsus is a traditionalist, on the other a revolutionary. He is conservative with regard to the fundamental truths of the Church, astrology, and alchemy, but skeptical and revolutionary in the face of the scholastic views of medicine, both in their practical and theoretical aspects''. (Carl G. Jung, Paracelsica, p. 13) Thus, the firmament of Paracelsus is a corpus = stellar cosmic sky that is part of the content of the visible human body. Diseases come from the mother's body and human beings are burdened with all kinds of diseases from the mother's womb. "Since the enemy of man is already locked in this body at birth, it must be surrounded by sickness and death." (Paracelsus) On the other hand, the material constitution of the body is embodied in Three Principles of our bodily substance, and each in its specific composition forms a Totality, a concrete corpus. There are three Principles=sulfur-salt-mercury: more than elements of medicinal alchemy. In fact, the Corpus Paracelsicum acquires and maintains purely practical aspects of the practical-experimental alchemical current where medicine has the power to change, mutate, renew and restore the patient. In general, his method concretizes the spiritual vision and possibilities of a 'Multi-Level Healing Art'. God is the Great Physician of the macrocosm who instructs the physician of the microcosm. ''The idea of harmony in nature, parallelism between the macrocosm and microcosm, the pervasiveness of forces akin to sympathy and antipathy, the application of animistic explanations to directional processes, and reference to emanations and hierarchies that bridged the gulf between the material and non-material world, remained viable explanatory options which were actively drawn upon by forward-looking thinkers throughout the seventeenth century''. (Charles Webster, From Paracelsus to Newton, p.p.68-69) In short, the system or Corpus of Paracelsus is ''systema novum'' impregnated with ''astronomia microcosmicae', it is a world of magical images and divine oracles charged with high theurgy and infused with the highest virtues of the stars. However, his study is an empirical study of nature within a visionary mysticism with formulas for the adequate preparation of plant and mineral medicines in adequate dosages. The various contradictory and fiery aspects of his personality do not take away his enormous abort to the world of alchemy and medicine. Serge Hutin describes him very well: "Paracelsus, without the slightest doubt, was a Rosicrucian Initiate, and it is also undoubted that we should see in him an eminent missionary who, in order to spread the divine light among men, many of whom are, unfortunately, very unreceptive, undertakes to endure tribulations and misunderstandings of all kinds. foolish rivalries, hatreds, petty envy, and miseries. Paracelsus faced martyrdom to the point of martyrdom...". ''In alchemy as in other aspects of his work, Paracelsus's reading may not been as extensive as he insinuated, but the confident way he handled the subject-matter of most branches of medicine indicates that he was writing from a position of strenght.'' ( Charles Webster, Paracelsus, p.115) ''The true ground of Medicine is Love.'' (Paracelsus)

HERMETIC PRINCIPLES OF ASCENSION = Scala Philosophorum

HERMETIC PRINCIPLES OF ASCENSION = Scala Philosophorum Víctor. Arturo. Cabello. Reyes. 'And he had a dream: He saw a ladder that was resting on the ground, and its end touched the sky. Angels of God ascended and descended through it'. (Genesis 28:12) Certainly, it is the only Biblical mention of a staircase where the Hebrew term of sul-lam is used precisely, in clear reference to the vision that Jacob manages to contemplate in dreams when stopping on his pilgrimage from Beer-sheba to Haran. Beautiful and significant is the vision of Bethel that manifests itself in an ancient sacred place. Sacred and productive place, for many ancient peoples, that for many centuries before this important vision was known by the Canaanites, with the powerful name of Luz=Light. (Genesis 28:19) Significantly, the place where Abraham had camped some time ago. (Genesis 28: 16-19; 35: 6) THE LADDER of Hermes, in its two basic modalities, the spiral and the straight, is unified with the fundamental ...

Bruno

INNO ALL'AMORE DI GIORDANO BRUNO Un'unica forza, l'Amore, unisce infiniti mondi e li rende vivi.
