Initiatic-Esoteric Masonry(part 1)

"The true is not always plausible."
(Voltaire)
There is in the Masonic Order a strong influence or essential millennial spirit of clear traditional mystery origin that is firmly established within the entire accumulation of currents, doctrines and occult, hermetic, Kabbalistic esoteric and pre-Socratic teachings that have managed to persist and subsist in the Freemasonry from archaic times and ages.
These Mystery doctrines were widely received and managed to merge and be accepted through the receptive assimilation of their basic principles enshrined within the same formal and initiatory constitutive structure of the Masonic Order.
It is common to find conflicting opinions as a possible rational explanation of the way that this ´´mighty traditional ancestral spirit´´ -its currents, spiritual lines, initiatory forms and origins-, manages to mark and impregnate its most solid ideological influence within the systemic and structural scaffolding. the extremely complicated body of iconographic symbols and images.
All this, within the doctrinal conglomerate of deep Masonic teachings and rituals.
Without these original doctrines and teachings of clear esoteric and hidden millenary origin of origin and origin and nature of an ancient and ancient science and mystery wisdom.
What René Guénon rightly called "authentic intellectuality" [1] is deposited, consolidated and grounded within that ancient wisdom and within the same initiatory processes and, this, thanks to the possible and effective millennial theurgical and ritual assimilation -in the Masonic Order- systematically deposited in the most varied and diverse influences and spiritual currents:
Our teachings and symbols preceded our formal organization by thousands of years.
They date back to beyond the ancient ages.
Signs, symbols and inscriptions come down to us from long and spaced centuries, and can be found from the tombs and temples of India to those of Nubia, through the Nile Valley in Egypt down the Delta, as well as in what then it was known as Chaldea, Assyria, Persia, Greece, Rome, and even in Mexico and Yucatan. [2]
We have carried out, and this for several decades, historical and documentary research related to the Mesoamerican projection within the Masonic architectural symbolism. [3]
These powerful spiritual and ancestral currents (Cosmic Model) are once again exposed, reassessed and reconsidered their trajectory, within a rigorous ideological framework and actively participating in a broad and rigorous academic rational perspective -if one can speak of such a thing- systematic and documentary.
Its fundamental feature is to be able to represent a refreshing and varied optic, heterogeneous and carefully erudite. It could be thought that many times its content is poor and we know that a small and limited group of Masonic researchers find the form more useful than the background and content.
In fact, It should be noted that many of these cumbersome and overloaded articles - to appear erudite - do not support a spiritual content and some are nourished by insipid and insignificant papers and quotes ... Ad Nauseam!
It would seem then that there may be another exposition, that it is quite possible to qualify it as intellectual, comprehensive, open and pretending in principle -with caution and stealth before all possible excess-, to faithfully follow the path that brings us closer to the fine link and thread of Traditional Gold and direct us to the renewed and ancient reunion of an ancestral spirit of esoteric and occult Freemasonry.
Already the ringing of bells resounds in the distance calling from rest to work the workers of the Masonic and alchemical stone, and the common and related characteristics of the other ancient and valid masonries resurface.
The investigation begins on new bases and computer sources.
And, for this reason, it is possible to consolidate in solid and robust complementary and multidisciplinary serious studies.
Investigations can rest on the successful and erudite immersion between the documentary foundations and primary and original sources of all the millennial spiritual currents.
In order to produce all kinds of explanations about the direct influence and participation, between mystery spiritual lines and currents and the Orphic and Pythagorean, [4] Mithraic [5], Hermetic-Neoplatonic [6], Neo-Pythagorean and Alchemical-Kabbalistic traditions.
At the end of the day, all of them become daughters of the Unique Tradition and of an Ancient Universal Sacred Symbolic Science, which is slowly beginning to shed its brilliance and contribute its valuable knowledge, until achieving glorious emergence in the awakening and rebirth of current Freemasonry.
We can distinguish how necessary world spiritual awakening should be widely reconsidered -without further delay and subterfuge- within the Masonic Order as a valuable resurgence or precious Alchemical-Spiritual renewal:
The Ancient Flowery Masters of alchemy used veiled terms that should have been he devoted many years to studying the question to simply become familiar with its language; his most important revelations are generally expressed through images and symbols. [7]
This awakening can be systematically specified and even defined within new contexts and parameters of reconsideration and reassessment of the hidden reality and within the so-called traditional ancient sources of Masonic inspiration.
This cyclical renewal would turn out to be a true and necessary resurgence of a continuous transmission of those old and almost forgotten traditional and initiatory Masonic ideas and values:
However, Freemasonry is a born survivor, since it has safeguarded a great part of the ancient legacy, in a way that at present it is one of the great heirs of the ancient sciences, typical of premodern humanism, such as kabbalah, alchemy or sacred geometry; sciences of man and for man, genuine representatives of ancient humanism.
[8]
Beyond the connotations that the noble Masonic tradition may have - the one that some brave people have the audacity to call -; Occult Science !, Esoteric, Kabbalistic and Hermetic; it is again recognized by the academy and the prestigious researchers of world esotericism beyond the scope and the limits of the intellectual limits of the Temple.

It is interesting to be able to point out that even in our days, and happening within the Order, there is a very deep and serious disappointment - before the decadent and momentary class persistence - of trying to maintain the incomprehensible privilege of the persistence of old ways - that they persist virulent-, within a racist and exclusive Freemasonry type social club or gentleman club. [9]
“As the Order is contaminated with these elements, merely profane and completely removed from the spirit of traditional Masonry, its symbols, images, principles and currencies were - with some exceptions - emptied of their original and radical content (they were its root). ”[10]
For many years the vast majority of the privileged caste of certain Freemasons of the Order, they have been timid and even reluctant to admit the esoteric, hermetic and cabalistic elements existing within the entire iconographic body and the rich symbolism of the Masonic temple.
It is more difficult for them to be able to assimilate and try to achieve - in a simple way - the acceptance and complexity of the persistence of these genuine symbolic correspondences and the hidden knowledge in the lodge (arcane discipline), that is carefully forbidden and hidden among the multiple recurring elements of an ancient wisdom-Prisca Theologia- supersensible, magical-cabalistic and alchemical (VITRIOL).
It is also a Wisdom within the initiatory-orphic and astrological currents [11] as we see around the zodiacal chain arranged around the furniture of many temples.
It is evident that "The ... nosce te ipsum", "know yourself", means, on the other hand, the infinite possibility of finding the macrocosm within the microcosm or better yet - according to the rich symbolic language of Master Paracelsus - contemplating the Astro of the small world (oneself) in the Astro of the great world- (astrology of the spiritual physical body). [12]
It is curious, for some, that the substantial expressive richness of symbols is also, the base and the foundation of a singular and arduous receptive and solar initiatory process through which we manage to qualify ourselves to receive in abundance that balm and oil -as Arcane substance = (Sacred Ampoule) - which is accepted as a fine and delicious liquid and astral anointing alchemical -Alkahest- = AZOTH of transmutation of the Raw Stone and the inner Lapis Philosophorum of the most pure nature and solar essence = (Golden Fleece = Golden Fleece).
“The Fleece represents the liquid, astral gold, extracted from the nature of higher realities and from the elements; as soul and seed, as solar substance flowing out of God's bounty, it gives life to things, sustains them, and is able to penetrate the most dense and solid bodies. " [13]
In any case, they are elements of spiritual interdependence that inhabit between the Mystical and Esoteric doctrines, recognized all of them, for their strong tradition or Masonic presence.
It is within that glorious symbolic and iconographic context of the Fraternal Order that we can faithfully follow the trajectory (follow the Acacia) and the search for the lost teacher.
In this same sense, the gaps in the tradition oblige us, however, to proceed with certain caution and painstaking care in the rigorous and systematic linguistic-cabalistic and theurgical study of the most diverse currents and original sources of great symbolic complexity. [14 ]
Access can be achieved to the specific place where the glorious spiritual essence of the Order resides, hidden and patient - waiting to be rescued.
We must warn that it is only from then on, is that we can access all the complexity and exegesis of those codes and whose essential components -almost forbidden and certainly rejected from the temple-, are hidden in the traditional base of its ancient iconographic-symbolic foundation. [15]
We have already noted that this valuable compendium is considered a seminal, comprehensive and highly scholarly Masonic work - truly a Masonic classic - that was prepared by a number of illustrious international Masons in the late 19th century and is a pioneer in the field of research. on the occult and other currents within the Order. [16]
In this current historical context it is known, however, that these esoteric currents of "philosophia perennis" are often erroneously perceived as survivors of ignorance and superstition or rather, of crude and reactionary irrationalism and ignorance of the mystery tradition. [17]
Other specialists such as the researcher W. Burkert, openly mentions the marked similarities between the mysteries and Freemasonry.
We must warn that they are resistant and consistent elements of esoteric and occult doctrines that emerge as millennial essential pieces and components of the Tradition inherited from a Science of Mysteries [18] and, which, manage to pass stealthily through the medieval organization of guilds unscathed and as an integral part of that Primordial Consciousness or Gold Chain = (Aurea Catena).
Misunderstood and Ignored.
The Western esoteric traditions have their roots in a religious way of thinking, which reaches back to Gnosticism, Hermeticism, and Neoplatonism in the hellenistic world during the first centuries AD
In the Renaissance, the rediscovery of ancient texts led to the scholarly revival of magic, astrology, alchemy, and Kabbalah. [19]
Obviously, then, we see a real esoteric meaning within a harmonic symbolic code; immersed in a powerful tradition and secret teaching between adepts and masters (prisca theologia) and of a profoundly sapiential, practical and operative nature that slowly returns to unravel.
"The most common sense of" esoteric "is" secret "or" reserved for a few "and without a doubt, in this sense, Freemasonry is esoteric." [20] In a similar way and with respect to hidden esoteric codes, let us remember that the archetype of the Solomonic temple for the sage Isaac Newton, "It contained an entire teaching of a code of cosmic proportions." [21]
The Iconographic Corpus of Freemasonry is an essential element in ritual practices and a privileged support to transmit its doctrines, its knowledge and its science.
Each piece, each image is a representation of some concept, principle or aspects of Masonic doctrines and is, at the same time, a work of art of an initiatory nature, for that reason Freemasonry defines its science as Real Art, which is not profane, but sacred.
From this it follows that Masonic images and symbols (and the execution of the ritual) transcend the aesthetic experience to enter the terrain of the initiatory, that is, the spiritual.
Therefore, the iconographic legacy that the Order has preserved is a representation of the sacred world that can only be accessed through its own language: the symbolic, vehicle and foundation of wisdom. [22]
It is particularly significant that through the transmission of the various tendencies and homologies of the Kabbalistic body of the temple and in the teaching immersed in the same assimilated codes.
And, this, thanks to the same architectural structural currents of the -Temple-Masonic-Body-Tree-Sephirotic- it then proceeds, in this way, to transmit the operational substance essentially encoded within the traditional initiatory teachings.
“A temple was not simply a building, an indifferent setting for the actions that unfolded in it; rather, it was a microcosm, a sort of model symbolically depicting the regions of the universe through which the deity passed. ”[23]
There are valuable formal historical precedents and ancestors in the same structures of the Egyptian, Sumerian, Solomonic, and Gothic temples.
In them we can affirm that it is where an allegorical teaching system and a rich teaching symbolism of an entire mystical process of transmutation are veiled.
This thousand-year-old teaching is preserved, thanks to the protection of a mystical chain of jealous links, who manage to protect -by oath- the thousand-year-old Oral tradition.
“The great civilizations of antiquity were oral cultures. Though the figures differ depending on place and period, literacy was always restricted to a small segment of society. ”[24]
This construction Tradition is led to crystallize and materialize in splendid architectural forms with all its details and components or sacred elements later branched.
In any case, persisting within the acceptance of traditional Gnostic, Neoplatonic and high Kabbalistic theurgy lines. Masonry is a search after Light. That search leads us directly back, as you see, to the Kabalah. ”[25]
The Flowery Masters and Stone Sculptors (sculptores lapidum liberorum), transmitted the traditional teachings through their initiation symbols, enriched by the assimilation of the occult and mystery teachings.
Those that reach us preserved, thanks to the enduring essence of the initiatory ritual and protected within the symbolic structural tradition and soteriological and spiritual purpose of the construction of the temple.
When we critically examine the rituals of all the degrees, from the Entered Apprentice to the Master in "Blue Masonry" and all the succeeding degrees from whatever rite they may have been derived, we discover in the forms, the language, and the secret words , everything has been taken from the Hebrew.
Every word is KABALISTIC.
What, then, is the inference? The Kabalists were the inventors of the rituals of the original degrees, and the kabalistic scholars in France and Germany have multiplied the degrees by elaborating upon the 'legends' of the first three. [26]
In her, the esoteric doctrinal content and the cabalistic and hermetic-alchemical ideas are reproduced that manage to intertwine geometric elements that stand out as the foundation of Masonic doctrines and teachings.
(The Pentagram is described in The Elements of Euclid, Book VI, Proposition No.30, according to Churton)
Hermetism represents the collection of philosophical insights attributed to the gnostic patriarchal figure, Hermes Trismegistus.
This legendary personage is named as 'the father of wise men' in 17th century copy of masonic charges (containing a traditional history of the craft). It is easier in a sense to trace the background to the use of the five-pointed star than it is to understand why the letter G has come into lodge usage. [27]
We can observe that one of the fundamental problems of the Order is to be able to understand and value precisely the essential concept of Initiatic Spiritual Tradition.
Algys Uzdavinys opines:
“In fact, The Golden Chain is the same as the Hermaic Chain.
This chain was both the chain of theophany, manifestation, or descent (demiourgike seira), and the ladder of ascent. This imagery of the Golden Chain was inseparable from the metaphysics of light and solar symbolism. ”[28]
Of course, it is necessary to return to the experiential study of the Ancient Sources of Sacred Knowledge and identify the true spiritual nature of the Order.
In this way, we can give a better meaning to the initiation commitment of the search for the Light.
So it seems, that this initiatory path is all a Royal Art (Per Ignem ad Lucem = By Fire The Light) alchemical-builder.
Its arcane substance of primordial transformation is of the same nature as the macrocosm [29] since in the microcosm –as Saturnal lead-, it is possible to incarnate it to be sublimated by the appropriate reception of the emission from the Luminous Delta of the Vibrations of the Word rhythmic and musical in sefirotic-kabbalistic-theurgic waves.
It must be purified, refined and assessed as an alchemical substance sublimated in our internal nature and distilled through the whole traditional operation of the (ars regia) within the due personal polishing of the -Brute Stone- and through the constant refinement of the tools for Masonic work. or work of the Magnus Opus [30].
Possibly it is an assimilation and fusion of an ancestral teaching of sacred geometric architecture deposited by the cosmic designer in the same Body-Stone-Mason-Square-Temple.
It is there that the arduous process of restoration and divine alchemical unification inherent and immanent in our own spiritual nature begins.
However, in this way the internal recognition of the primordial unity of man with God is accessed.
The Lost Word is reconquered as an infinite possibility of the due theurgical reabsorption of Wisdom-Hermetic-Kabbalist-Universal, [31] deposited in the rich instrumental iconographic and symbolic inheritance and immanent and transcendent in all a conscientious “geometric layout” (Compass), framed within the universal architectural macrocosm = (Ex Uno Omnia).
It is a tracing of universal harmony and a cosmic harmonic order that the poetry of the Ancient Duties of the Cooke Manuscript (1410) as; Science of Geometry, and potentially residing in the Delta and sacred luminous Ara that is deposited in the heart of man [32] as the center of the Kabbalistic tree of the temple.
It is within the alchemical microcosm [33] and zodiacal body of man that the seed of the stone essence-sculptores lapidum liberorum- of Golden and Solar nature is deposited = Alchemical Gold = (OMNIA AB UNO-OMNIA IN UNO-OMNIA PER UNO) ready for your refinement and purification or spiritual sublimation.
The Corpus Hermeticum:
“The human on earth is a mortal god. God in heaven is an immortal Man. ''
To end, Let us meditate deeply on the possibility of a genuine search that directs us towards an ancestral Path or path of connection towards transcendence. In short, it is through initiation that the whole process of recognition and acceptance of this spiritual path begins.
It is the Alchemical Gold Way.
She is Wisdom and the Seed of Acacia.

Brief Treatise on Initiatic-Esoteric Masonry

HERMETIC PRINCIPLES OF ASCENSION = Scala Philosophorum Víctor. Arturo. Cabello. Reyes. 'And he had a dream: He saw a ladder that was resting on the ground, and its end touched the sky. Angels of God ascended and descended through it'. (Genesis 28:12) Certainly, it is the only Biblical mention of a staircase where the Hebrew term of sul-lam is used precisely, in clear reference to the vision that Jacob manages to contemplate in dreams when stopping on his pilgrimage from Beer-sheba to Haran. Beautiful and significant is the vision of Bethel that manifests itself in an ancient sacred place. Sacred and productive place, for many ancient peoples, that for many centuries before this important vision was known by the Canaanites, with the powerful name of Luz=Light. (Genesis 28:19) Significantly, the place where Abraham had camped some time ago. (Genesis 28: 16-19; 35: 6) THE LADDER of Hermes, in its two basic modalities, the spiral and the straight, is unified with the fundamental ...
